Equestrian Boudoir
An intimate fine-art experience celebrating confidence, beauty, vulnerability, and the extraordinary relationship between you and your horse.

Photography Shaped by Patience, Connection, and a Deep Love of Horses
For Kimberly, photographing horses is deeply personal.
Her work brings together years behind the camera, a lifelong connection to horses, and more than three decades spent caring for people as a nurse.
That experience shapes the way she works today, with patience, intuition, guidance, and genuine attention to the person and horse in front of her camera.
Velvet REIN was created from a belief that the relationship between horse and human deserves to be photographed with the same care, emotion, and artistry as any other meaningful relationship.
Before photography became the center of her creative work, Kimberly spent more than three decades as a nurse.
That experience taught her to listen closely, notice what is not always said out loud, and understand that people often need reassurance before they can feel completely comfortable.
Those lessons followed her into photography.
Kimberly does not expect clients to arrive knowing how to pose, where to put their hands, or how to feel confident in front of a camera.
She guides the experience carefully while paying attention to the person in front of her, not just the photograph she is trying to make.
For clients who feel nervous, self-conscious, or unsure of what to do, that approach can make all the difference.

Horses have a way of bringing people back to themselves.
Around them, posture changes. Expression softens. Attention shifts away from the camera and toward something familiar.
Kimberly understands that the most meaningful equestrian photographs often happen in those moments.
A hand resting against a neck.
A quiet look.
The way a horse turns toward their person.
The confidence that appears when someone is standing beside the animal they trust.
Velvet REIN is built around recognizing those details and preserving them with intention.
Kimberly believes beautiful photographs can be carefully created without making the experience feel stiff or overly staged.
She will guide body position, hands, expression, movement, and interaction when direction is needed.
Then she will watch for what happens in between.
The laugh after a pose changes.
The horse who leans closer.
The expression that appears when attention shifts away from the camera.
The moments that could never have been scripted.
That balance between guidance and observation is central to the Velvet REIN experience.
"You do not need to know how to pose. You only need to bring the relationship you already have.
Velvet REIN was created for people who understand that a horse is never simply part of the scenery.
The relationship may represent years of partnership, discipline, trust, recovery, confidence, competition, quiet companionship, or a chapter of life that is difficult to put into words.
Kimberly's goal is to create photographs that hold some of that meaning.
Sometimes the result is romantic and intimate.
Sometimes it is powerful and athletic.
Sometimes it is a portrait of the horse alone.
Sometimes it becomes especially important because time with a beloved horse feels limited.
The style may change.
The purpose does not.
The relationship remains at the center.
Every horse and human relationship is different. Velvet REIN offers three distinct photography experiences, each created to preserve a different side of that connection.
An intimate fine-art experience celebrating confidence, beauty, vulnerability, and the extraordinary relationship between you and your horse.
Horse and rider photography created to preserve quiet connection, personality, movement, athleticism, and the partnership you have built together.
Fine-art portraiture centered on your horse's presence, personality, beauty, and legacy, including compassionate Eternal Grace sessions when time feels especially precious.
Your consultation is a conversation. Kimberly wants to understand you, your horse, what matters to you, and what you hope the photographs will preserve before deciding how the session should look.
You will not be left wondering what to do in front of the camera. Kimberly provides direction throughout the experience while adapting to what feels natural for you and your horse.
Horses have personalities, moods, preferences, and opinions. The experience is built with patience and flexibility rather than expecting every horse to behave the same way.
The goal is not simply to make beautiful images. It is to create photographs that feel personal enough to remind you why this relationship mattered in the first place.
Kimberly's background influences more than the way she poses someone.
Years spent caring for people taught her how important it is to create trust before asking someone to be vulnerable.
That matters in portraiture.
It matters when someone is stepping into an equestrian boudoir session.
It matters when a client feels uncomfortable being photographed.
It matters when a family is creating photographs with a horse they may soon have to say goodbye to.
The circumstances may be different, but Kimberly's approach remains grounded in patience, respect, and attention.

Kimberly believes photographs this personal deserve to be experienced beyond a screen.
Velvet REIN can help clients consider how favorite photographs may live as professionally finished imagery and statement artwork in the home.
Professionally finished photographs created to be displayed and returned to for years to come.
Statement artwork designed to showcase the detail, strength, and presence of your horse with exceptional visual impact.
An Equine Remembrance Shadowbox may also be created in connection with the Eternal Grace Gallery, designed to honor a beloved horse and the bond you shared.
Kimberly is based in Griswold, Connecticut. Velvet REIN creates on-location equestrian photography throughout Eastern Connecticut.

Begin with a complimentary consultation. You can tell Kimberly about you, your horse, what you are drawn to, and any questions or concerns you have before deciding which experience is right for you.
You do not need to know exactly which experience you want or have every detail planned before reaching out.
Start by telling Kimberly about your horse, the relationship you share, and what you would love to preserve.
The rest can begin from there.
